Pankaj Chadha

Pankaj Chadha leads the Marine Business portfolio at L&T Precision Engineering and Systems, overseeing strategic programmes in submarine and warship construction, as well as the development of advanced marine equipment and systems. A Metallurgical Engineer by training (Class of 1990), he joined Larsen & Toubro in 1993 and has since built a distinguished career spanning over three decades across diverse domains including Sales, Human Resources, Business Development, Production, Project Management, and Information Technology.

He played a pivotal role in L&T’s entry into defense shipbuilding, securing the company’s first order from the Indian Coast Guard. His leadership has been instrumental in driving key milestones within India’s prestigious Submarine Programme. Pankaj also spearheaded the enterprise-wide implementation of ERP systems across L&T’s Heavy Engineering Division, impacting over 3,000 users across seven business units and nine locations.

A committed advocate of continuous learning and leadership excellence, Pankaj has completed various executive education programmes from globally renowned institutions like Harvard and London Business School. Notably, he is the first professional from Indian private industry to complete the prestigious 11-month course at the National Defence College, New Delhi.

Pankaj is associated with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) as well as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) National Expert Committee on Defence, Aerospace, and Space — contributing to policy advocacy and industry growth at both national and international levels.
