Arun T. Ramchandani

Arun Ramchandani joined L&T as a Graduate Engineer in 1984 after completing his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Delhi. In a four-decade long career at L&T he has been instrumental in growing the nascent Technology and Product Development Group of L&T’s corporate R&D with a focus on niche multi-disciplinary Product Development. While working at L&T, he has received specialised management training through programmes in Technology Management, Global Leadership & Advanced Management from ASCI, Manchester Business School, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and INSEAD, France. He started his career in R&D at L&T and went on to head the R&D for L&T PES IC, then led the Guns & Armoured Systems Business Unit before taking on his current assignment as Head of L&T PES IC. 

He has worked extensively on the design & development of critical equipment and new products for the Defence & Aerospace Business Segment, with specific expertise in systems engineering & multi-disciplinary systems design & simulations. 

Mr. Ramchandani is a recognised technology professional & defence industry specialist. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) besides being a member of various professional bodies. He is conferred with Honorary Fellowship by Indian Society of Systems for Science and Engineering (ISSE) and Eminent Engineer Award by the Institution of Engineers (India) for his exemplary contribution in field of science and engineering. 

He is currently the chair of CII National Committee on Defence, Member of USIBC Global Board, Member of Board of Governors for National Academy of Defence Production for PGDM programme and Member Technology Advisory Group to the Empowered Technology Group chaired by the Principle Scientific Advisor to the Government of India. He served as Chairman Defence & Aerospace Committee under the aegis of FICCI.
